The sand, the surf, the off leash running – the beach is a dogs dream!
Australia has some of the best beaches in the world so why not get out there and go take your dog on a beach adventure. Most beaches allow dogs but some restrict off leash to certain times of the day. Check with your local council for dog regulations and off leash times on beaches.
Things to keep an eye out for on your beach trips with your dog are:
- Stingers and biters ie. Jellyfish, Crabs, Sharks and in the top end – Crocs.
- Sharp shells which can cause injury to your dogs paws.
- Hot sand that can burn your dog’s paw pads.
- Rips and currents, keep an eye on your dog while in the water to ensure they stay safe
What you need to take:
- Clean water
- Poop bags
- Collapsible dog bowl
- PFD for dog
- Floating water toys
