One of the things I love about Dog Adventures is how it has allowed me to immerse myself in what I love the most – all things dog related! There have been a few perks that come along with sharing our adventures with the world, one of which is the added bonus of getting to try out brand new dog products that arrive on the market (which you can read in our reviews section!)
Ivory Coat recently launched a new dog food range called Australian Natural Health, and they kindly sent Kate and I a few samples to try out. I don’t know about you, but I put a lot of time, effort and research into what I feed Kate. It’s important to me that she receives all the nutrition and energy required for our adventures, as I would prefer not to have to carry an 18kg kelpie if she doesn’t have the energy to finish our trips! (Don’t worry – this has never happened – and I’m pretty positive my working dog could run a marathon and still have energy for a walk after!) Regardless of this, I want Kate to receive all the nutrients she needs to live a long and healthy life.
It’s rare for me to write about food on Dog Adventures – it’s got to be pretty special for me to consider posting about it. After reading about the new Ivory Coat range, I thought it was definitely something I felt worth sharing with you all.
Australian Natural Health foods are 100% Aussie made and owned and is vet-endorsed. The range is also free from common allergens such as wheat, gluten and soy; common ‘fillers’ rice and corn; and artificial preservatives, colours and flavours.
The intense stare of Kate who wants the food…really wants the food.
Time to get a little ‘oversharey’ here, but have you ever noticed that when you buy the supermarket mass produced dog food how massive your dog’s poos are? Well they are that big because of all that ‘filler’ stuff that you find in dog food. When you make the switch to a nutrient dense dog food it means your dog absorbs more of the good stuff and there is less waste left over – which you then have to pick up the next day!
So what is in the food then? A selection of vegetables and superfoods like kale and blueberries to boost antioxidant intake and flaxseeds and salmon oil rich in omega-3 & 6 to maintain skin and coat health. A natural pre-biotic is added to maintain healthy digestion and essential vitamins and minerals also.
And she tries to sneak some quickly when my back was turned!
Ivory Coat place great focus on sourcing high quality produce to actually put in the food, but they also look out for the folks who actually grow the food. $1.00 from the purchase of every 8kg Australian Natural Health bag is donated to Aussie Helpers to support their highly awarded and much appreciated work with Australian farmers. Ivory Coat Companion Goods aims to donate $10,000 per month to assist farmers, their livestock and of course, their working dogs and companions (which is pretty close to my heart!)
So that’s why I’m sharing the Ivory Coat dog food range with you, from the ingredients list, to the sourcing of produce, to the post purchase support of the farmers, this new range is truly looking out for the best interests of everyone and every dog involved.
